I used to have dreams of a eight winged skeletal raven man riding an eyeless unicorn. He referred to himself as "Death Himself", and he was such a powerful image that I crafted him into a tarot card.

edit: Oh my goodness, a DD! I am very excited!

Inspired by the Tarot card, Death by *Lyekka holds on to arcane symbolism and gives it her own particular twist. Highly stylized and balancing texture and bold areas for maximum iconic weight, this is an example from an outstanding and underviewed gallery. (

I'm reminded of a dream I had myself - mine involved a robed skeleton riding in a flying chariot pulled by six or eight skeletal horses - I think it was six but can't remember for sure. Only in that dream, I ended up introducing myself as Death to this skeletal Santa Claus.
Your death is so much cooler I love all the symbolism, and the red swirlies in the background add a lot to the composition of the image.
This is very much so the most original Death card I think I've ever seen. The detail is mind blowing and I love (for some reason) that Death as a bird has more than two arms. There is a Unicorn deck (tarot cards) so I've seen Death's Horse as a unicorn before, but I love that he's more a silhouette in this piece & bound to Death's heart. Amazing concept.
