I have been watching Twin Peaks recently through my long drought of not selling anything, and being extremely depressed because of it. The quote "je suis une âme solitaire" struck me as especially perfect for the feelings of hopelessness and despair that I had been feeling. I then decided to take that feeling, and that quote, and make it into this piece.
Around 6x9 on an 8x10 scratchboard. No watercolor, and no digital tampering other than scanner correction. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. And this captures those feelings perfectly. Maybe it's the plain black background, the rat just sort of floating there, maybe his expression, I dunno. But this is very nicely done.
